AP Tiling

Floor and wall tiling services across Cardiff

All aspects of tiling, from a single splashback to a full bathroom or a whole ground floor. Here's what I take on — and how I approach each one.

Floor tiling

Porcelain, ceramic, natural stone and wood-effect tiles for kitchens, hallways, living rooms, utilities and conservatories. Floors take the most punishment in a house, so the prep matters: I check levels, fill and level where needed and set out so the cuts fall in the right places.

Wall tiling

Bathrooms, en-suites, feature walls, metro and large-format wall tiles laid level and plumb. Trims, internal corners and edges finished neatly so there's nothing rough to catch the eye — or your hand.

Bathrooms & wet rooms

Floors and walls tiled and fully waterproofed, with tanking behind the tiles where it counts. Careful detailing around niches, shower trays, pipes and trims keeps things watertight and looking sharp.

Kitchen floors & splashbacks

Hard-wearing, easy-to-clean kitchen floors and splashbacks that line up with cabinets, sockets and worktops. Brick-bond, stacked or straight — set out to suit the room.

Natural stone, porcelain & large-format

Marble, travertine, slate and big-format porcelain handled with the right tools and adhesives. Large tiles need a flat base and careful back-buttering to avoid lippage — that's where the prep earns its keep.

Patterned & feature tiling

Herringbone, chequerboard, brick-bond, borders and recessed niches. Pattern work lives or dies on the set-out, so I dry-lay and plan before anything is fixed.

Outdoor porcelain

Porcelain paving for patios, paths and thresholds — frost-resistant, slip-rated and laid to fall so water runs away cleanly.

Tile removal & floor prep

Stripping out old tiles, levelling compounds, backer boards and priming. The unglamorous half of the job — and the reason the finished tiling stays put.

Common questions

How much does tiling cost in Cardiff?

It depends on the tile size, the condition of the surface underneath and how much prep is needed — which is why I quote each job individually after seeing the room. Quotes are free, fixed and itemised, so you know exactly what you're paying for before any work starts.

How long does it take to tile a bathroom?

A typical full bathroom — floor and walls — takes around four to seven days depending on the prep, tile size and drying times between stages. I'll give you a realistic timeline with your quote and keep you updated at every stage.

Do you supply the tiles?

Most customers choose and buy their own tiles so they get exactly what they want. I'll tell you how much to order (including roughly 10% extra for cuts), recommend local suppliers, and I supply all the adhesives, grout, trims and waterproofing.

Can you remove my old tiles first?

Yes — strip-out is part of the service. I remove old tiles and adhesive, make good the surface and level it where needed, and can arrange disposal of the waste.

Can you tile over underfloor heating?

Yes. With the right flexible adhesive, decoupling where appropriate, and the correct commissioning of the heating before and after, tiling over underfloor heating is no problem — it's something I do regularly.

Not sure which you need? Just ask.

Describe the job and I'll tell you straight what's involved and what it'll cost.
